This policy explains how AariNAT Company Limited ("AariNAT", "we", "us"), operator of the Educational Bloom platform (agent.edubloom.com.ng, school.edubloom.com.ng and portal.edubloom.com.ng), collects, uses, stores and protects personal data, in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023 ("NDPA") and the regulations of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission ("NDPC").

AariNAT Company Limited is the Data Controller for personal data processed through Educational Bloom. Schools using the School Portal act as Data Controllers for the student and staff data they input, and AariNAT acts as their Data Processor for that data.

3. Children's Data

Educational Bloom processes personal data belonging to students under 18, entered by their school. Under the NDPA, processing a child's data requires a lawful basis and, where relying on consent, verifiable consent from a parent or guardian. Because schools — not AariNAT — collect this data directly from parents/guardians as part of enrolment, the school is responsible for obtaining that consent or establishing another lawful basis (e.g. performance of the school's educational contract with the parent) before entering a child's data into the platform. AariNAT processes that data only on the school's instructions and does not use student data for advertising or profiling.

We retain personal data for as long as a school's subscription is active, and for 24 months after a subscription ends, to allow for account recovery, dispute resolution, and legal/regulatory record-keeping. After this period, data is deleted or anonymised on request.
